STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR ANDREW M. CUOMO ON THE PASSING OF FORMER U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL JANET RENO
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Janet Reno, the first woman ever to serve as Attorney General. Throughout her career and her life, Attorney General Reno was a trailblazer who worked in pursuit of justice and to ensure a more fair and balanced system for all. I had the pleasure of serving with Janet in the Clinton Administration, where she brought professionalism, prudence and a sound legal mind to some of the most contentious issues of our time, including the prosecution of the World Trade Center and Oklahoma City bombings. Her achievements and her legacy will endure for generations to come.
“On behalf of all New Yorkers, I extend my deepest sympathies and prayers to Janet’s family, her loved ones and friends.”
